laptop Dilemma ;budget 30 k

Well friends i want to get good laptop for my brother .please tell me at what all lappys will I get the for 30k . 1+ -1 here and there will Do .
At the present i am getting him :

ASUS X50R lappy : for 31k worth a buy,provides 2 years GLOBAL WARRANTY
COMPAQ C770TU lapptop got almost same config as that of ASUS X50R

is there any good laptop in this price Bracket .
please suggest me better deal or something

PRIME IS SELLING ASUS X50R for 41k (gone mad)

if you are getting compaq one.. then get assure that the drivers for windows xp (if you intend to use) are available (on net and from the official website)...

If my budget was 30k, I would buy the Acer 4520, there is no competition to this laptop in the price range.

X50R comes with crappy celeron or low end pentium dual core processor. Right?

Paying 31k for celeron or pentium dual core based laptop is pure nonsense. For 4k more you'll get Dell Inspiron 1525.

Don't buy it online. Get if from Dell dealer in your city. You will get it for much lower price.

Dell 1510 is good but not avilable with local dealers

I strongly recommend you to go for either

DELL or

Lenevo

Yes, I know the budget, but I think if you buy any of these two, you will not regret later. Many of my friends are having problem with Compaq (may be just them) and I will not recommend Compaq to any.

Why dont you consider Acer 4520? Trust me, its real VFM and its a good laptop with great features for its price.

Other than mediocore build quality (you don't play baseball with laptops i guess

), there's no reason you should not buy Acer 4520. Use the money saved to buy some good laptop goodies or save it up for yourself.

ACER 4520 is good undoubtedly but its shipped with 14.1" wide screen..
if u are satisfied with it go for it...

or else...

go for Compaq C783TU
dualcore t2370
120gb hdd
wifi
NO Bluetooth
512MB RAM.
15.4 " Widescreen
Rs. 28000

++ spend an 900 more and upgrade to another 1gb RAM..

so within 30000 u get an decent lappy...

Why not Lenovo 3000 N200 0769 seriese with T2370 Dual Core processors ?? should come under Rs. 30k along with another extra 1 GB DDR-II 667 MHz RAM

Another 1 GB?... Does that gice a total of 2 GB then? I am really in love with lenovo, especially with the heaps of software bundles it provides and of course the unmatched build quality and low failure rates.

Intel T2130 / T2080 / T2030 are based on Core Duo architecture hence there wont be any 64bit support for them !!!

Where as Intel Dual Core or Pentium Dual Core are like, T2310 / T2330 / T2370 are based on Core 2 micro architecture, hence they come with support for EM64T OSes..

get A compaq....highly trustable.......believe me I work for Dell [US]....not call center..................the laptop's got in india on the official website of compaque are the ones that are actually out of production.......het me back for info
