Buying a Laptop - Lenovo Thinkpad

I would be buying a Thinkpad.. Have decided on this config..

ThinkPad T42 2379RHU
Processor: Intel Pentium M Processor 745 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2, 400MHz FSB) (Standard)
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Standard)
Display type: 14.1 inch XGA TFT (Standard)
Memory: ThinkPad 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM (Standard)
Graphics: 64MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (Standard)
Hard drive: 60GB 5400rpm ATA-100 (Enhanced IDE) (Standard)
Optical device: 24X/24X/24X/8X Max CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo EIDE Ultrabay Slim drive (Standard)
Integrated WiFi wireless LAN: Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG (Standard)
Security: Embedded Security Subsystem 2.0 and Integrated fingerprint reader (Standard)

Now i have some questions on this... I am also thinkin of the T43 models.. they have PCI-e express slot.. Now guys pls tell me how important is that... Secondly i can save some bucks if i dont take the Fingerprint Reader.. its a sexy thing to have but is it of much use ?
would this ATI Radeon let me play all the latest games ?
Any other shortcoming of this config guys ??
Please gimme a review and any info i would love to know b4 i buy...

AM getting it from US.. Its around 1500$ ...

It would be great if some1 can point out in details the difference between T42 and T43 models... am confused y the later cost around $100 more almost the same config...
