Firefox 2.0.0.11 Hangs abruptly

I have the firefox version 2.0.0.11 installed on my PC. While browsing it hangs up abruptly and then i have to force it to terminate using task manager. This happens without any reason. Can any one explain me what is the issue and what is the workaround ?

Complete uninstall firefox and reinstall FF latest version...that might help

I tried that. What i did was went to Add remove programs and uninstalled firefox. Then again reinstalled the same but after reinstallation all the extensions and bookmarks were as before. I concluded that although firefox got uninstalled but the data along with extensions was saved. I dont know where.

addons are may be the reason.but which addon

May be. I have uninstalled few of the addons which i dont use. Lets see if this solves the problem.

You could start Firefox in Safe mode where it gives you the option to disable all addons, custom settings, themes & other options.

For getting Firefox to run in Safe Mode:

Start->Programs->Mozilla Firefox->Mozilla Firefox(Safe Mode)
OR
Run this in Start->Run
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

NOTE: Please close All Firefox windows before starting up Firefox in Safe Mode.
