Actually my question would be Windows or Mac? Since coming to Uni, I've noticed that more people here use a Mac as compared to Windows / Linux. I'm planning to a computer upgrade, so I was wondering if I should go for a Mac...

windows is more prfrd globally..for several reasons, hence over 90% use them. windowsxp/sp2 is quite secure and stable. it only gets attacked more bcoz it is more popular. hackers/malware writers would want to be famous amongst this 90%+, wudnt they now ? i prefer and suggest windows xp/sp2...as there is a slo a lot u can do with windows

Google does not differenciate between Linux and Windows users, so it will go to http://www.linux.org/ regardless of the operating system you use.

Those stats are wrong. Mac users amount to more than six percent of the total computer users. These stats are quoting a figure of less than four percent.
