google talk and proxies

hi,
i recently downloaded google talk and installed it on my system. the problem is that i cant log into the messenger. after filling the required info and waiting for some time a message pops up which says that"authenciation failed". i access to web through a proxy server. the server has been configured to block messengers and other chatting clients. but we bypass it using proxy tunelling software called "your freedom". after setting it up and setting proxy settings to:localhost:8080" almost all the apps run but i cant run this app even after trying both the proxies. is there in any sol to this problem. also are there any other good tunelling softwares available????

check if uhave enabled pop access from Gmail if u haven't then that might be the problem
