Unhappy Cabinet button trouble

My Dear friends i have a P4. asus( P5LD2VM) mobo.512ddr2ram, sata 160gb.hdd
config. on a techcom cabinet.
for the past few days i am facing a problem with start up. I have to press
the power on button (in the cabinet) multiple times to start the comp.the situation
is worse when the computer had been running for around few hours and was shut down, and
then i have to press the power on button around 20-25 times to start it which
is very annoying.I think i was able to explain.
(fyi: i do not have a UPS & System is out of warranty.
would be obliged to someone with genuine
solution or atleast suggestions.please help.

Hmmm....Maybe the pins connecting your ON switch on the cabinet to your motherboard are lose or maybe they have a lot of dust on them preventing contact..try cleaning up your motherboard with an air blower or reconnecting the pins.

Also check that the power switch is working properly, it may be possible that its internal contacts are loose.

If these things are OK then check the SMPS.
