Why do you want to waste money on that. Paying anything more than 5k for a 2.1 setup is just waste of money.

THX etc are useful only for 5.1 or bigger setup.

Philips MMS430 and Logitech Z-2300 are the models you can look for.

Seriously, put that money somewhere else. Take music classes and buy instrument like a guitar. That will be much much more fun than buying another pair of 2.1 speakers.

+1 what desi said!
However, as u are really interested to go for 2.1 setup, then u can either go for Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 series, Bose or few custom setups like,
1. JBL Balboa 10
2. Jamo S202 or S204 !
Couple them with any typical 200W amp and u are in for a sound tr8!

z-2300 is CRAP...... if EXCELLENT quality is what you are looking for. Simple get two
independent Wharfedale Diamond speakers, couple it with a yamaha or DENON amp and you got yourself a kick ass stereo setup...... (using a quality CD player might not be a bad idea either).

Check out the Diamond series of spks on this site...

Wharfedale Diamond

The setup how ever would slightly cross 15K mark depending on which Diamond spk you go for.

Or as Mayank bhai pointed (always a pleasure to see mayank bhai now with the right choise ) go for Jamo, but I personally feel Wharfedale sounds better than Jamo (Mind you which in no means a disrespect to these ultimate quality spks). Its just my personal openion......

PS ::: Klipish is ok....(I am emphasizing on your own statement)...

When you say excellent EXCELLENT Excellent QUALITY these... Sonys n Logis n Creatives n philips (even Altec) land no where...... all are Crap.......when it come to actuall kick ass audiophile audio set up nothing can beat Jamo, Wharfedale (and quite a few others I wont name yet) line of spks.....
