UPS is not a UPS

Hi All,

I have a Wipro UPS 600VA (donno exactly it is 600VA or 500VA), brought in December 2002. Last Year i had changed its Battery (EXIDE Battery) as i was not getting any backup.

Now whenever power goes off, the UPS switches off immediately . Is it a problem with the Battery, or any other Issue. No back up i am getting.

Go to the Service Centre or dealer, anyway are you sure that the purchased battery is for UPS? Exide as far as I know is better known for INVERTER batteries, may be your's is one such.

UPS AND INVERTER BATTERIES ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

Yeah the Battery worked for almost a year. And i am using a UPS only for PC, not any Inverters. The battery i got is may be of different brand i suppose, my brother had took the UPS to near by Exide centre and got its battery replaced. I think i should do the same now.
