samsung 943NWX ..is fair enough ..but lacks a DVI input ..which is much better than old analog VGA input.especially when going for HD4850 DVI input will make a difference ...
dell is better in all terms ...but deciding factor can be ur budget ..another good monitor(atleast feature wise ..as there are no reviews out yet ...since its very new monitor ) can be benq E2200 HD/HDA ...which is the only 22" monitor to support full HD ..@13k
samsung is good quality wise ..but lacks feature wise so will always come second or thrid after dell and viewsonic ..
feature wise viewsonic monitors are very good too ...and are available for much cheaper price than dell if tight on budget ..u can go for them ..
HD4850 can handle majority games upto full HD pretty nicely ...but not all of them ...infact i beleive 19" in itself is a bottleneck for HD4850 ..any game u throw on it it plays happily at all settings max @19"..so to really extract performace out of HD4850 u will need 22" monitor ...

o yesh . usless its old crysis crying out loud at ultra high settings.
20 inch monitor could bother a little while reading than a 22 inch one.

i agree with u on that ....atually all the review sites are from abroad ...where they have so many options for brands ..when we come to india ..we have very limited brands ..i will always keep samsung and viewsonic as second best after dell ...they cheaper than dell ..its not like they are extremelly inferior to dell
but viewsonic on higher side ..cos featurewise its more better than samsung

Re: Help needed selecting a LCD!
ViewSonic and Dell are recommended for gaming panels, Viewsonic is awesome VFM too..
4850 will hold out to 1680x1050 and even 1920x1200 with one or 2 settings down a bit(n i mean only a bit)..but OCing solves that too.....

Re: Help needed selecting a LCD!
I would recommend the ViewSonic's 22" VX2235wm widescreen LCD
which I bought a month back & must say, I am very pleased with its
performance
features:
DVI port
Built in stereo speakers (ok qual)
2ms response time
4000:1 contrast ratio
read the review:
http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles...?cid=5&id=2456
I was going to buy a dell with integrated usb ports & web cam which costed 16200
but when i called dell & they quoted me the final amount of 18K+ (after adding taxes, octroi)
I changed my mind & instead bought the above mentioned monitor for 13200
great VFM, i say

OOPS, guess I'm a bit hyper now, my RIG is just around the corner, first time to play DMC4 maxed out in a 22" LCD (I hate Crysis, just so sick of it, man I need something new. Eg-GTA4)

its really difficult to say about the performance difference cos looking at something everyone can have a different perceptions..and there are no set criterions...but LCD monitors these days are becoming good ..i haven't heard any problem of pixels or anything of that sort ..so far ...backlight could be a problem in few monitors ...
but keeping VFM apart ..i think dell can be at the most 7~10 % better ..and thats a bit stretched i guess ..thats maximum...and its my guess i have no theory or link to support this point !
there is not a difference of day or night between any monitors that are out there ...so anyone who would be buying viewsonic will be very satisfied ..and wouldn't find a difference in picture quality unless both monitors dell and viewsonic are kept side by side ..i can tell u this cos our friends tried this out ...and yes u can say we don't have perfect eye for difference ..but yes thats what is the case with average user ...i for being one average user...
so considering these fact ..i think if anyone on stiff budget.....should go for viewsonic 22" by all means i mean they are available for about 12.5k these days ..thats like about 2k less ...its the same thing ...2k more for may be 5% or 7% or 10% (far stretched) better on dell ..VFM
but in 19" the obvious choice should be dell ...cos there is no price difference ...

Congrats on your buy. Even I am considering the Dell SE2008WFP. I have a couple of questions to ask on this.
1. Which vga card do you use? I currently have a 7600GT. I wonder whether it will be enough to run the monitor at its native resolution of 1680x1050.
2. The screen is glossy on this monitor. How much does the glare bother you? Is it a big issue?
TIA!

1.sry i cant help you here since i have not got my ordered Sapphire HD4850 card yet and im using my old system.ill get my card within 2 days hopefully so ill let you know.
2.glare shouldn't be an issue coz with the sunlight rays falling on my monitor im able to adjust.
------
and guys i have a Q!
the text and images on my screen are not sharp and focused...is it because im using my OLD 64MB on board VGA card @ 1680*900?

1. SURE. Even a 7300GT should do it. 7600GT will be a good companion for the LCD.
2. Not a big issues unless u sit directly opposite to a tube-light .
