Help In Ocing Standard Parts!!!!

hello guys out there i was just wondering if you could help out nobies like me in overclocking standard parts.....
my system specs:
c2d e4500
2X1gb ddr2 corsair jetram [667mhz]
160 gb hdd wd
xfx nvidia 8600gt 512mb gddr2
zebronics lava pc case with psu......
i know it is a overall sad config but i was wondering if you could help me out in overclocking this rig....

Anyway jusz mention ur Mobo man....
e4500 is 2.4GHz... right.... I'll try OC my E4600 and then tell u how far ir goes...

lol you will be surprised to know my motherboard intel 945gcz.... hey i tried to overclock with riva tuner but memory clock still not increaseing i..e comp hangs when i increase mem clock

Intel Mobos are not good for OC... OK.. If system hangs after OC ur gfx card means u OC above the cards safe limits....(I hope so)... So, just OC by lil increase like if the default clock is 640MHz, then increase by 5 or 10 MHz.. and look for stability... Then report here...

hey thnx raj but do you think my problem lies of ocing my gfx card with my psu?????
i only have a 450w bundled psu with my pc case zebronics lava maybe if i get a better pc case then??

Sure.... get atleast a 500W PSU or a Corsair VX450W... Better in case of OC....

hey fellows ummm... no i have an intel original mobo dg945gcz and i dont think it will not overclock........... 1 more thing i wanted to ask i am getting an asus x38 chipset with a evga 8800gts 320mb @ 8k hws that????????????????????????????????????????? will i be able to run it on a 450w psu? with pc case....

i would like to overclock it also will i be able to do that??.....................
or my best bet would be a evga 9600gt with a asus x38 for 6k???

how are u getting 8800 gts and X38 mobo ..i guess its second hand ...??

u will need something like coolermaster 600w or corsair vx450 ....to give sufficient power to mobo and gfx card in case u overclock both ...
