Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
I am facing some problem with my comp ,
some times i get to see no signal on my monitor , some times the problem gets fixed by removing the monitor cable and turning on the monitor and later turn on with cable attached .
few times the same problem got fixed when i tried removing hdd data cable ...so the monitor flashed and showed the " hdd.... " usual message and after connecting the cables back it was fine .
This problem still exists and some times at most urgent situations my pc dosent start up , instead i get to see the very irritating no signal , and to add the pain none of the tricks i mentioned above works then .
And forgot to tell another imp problem when going through the above procedure , this computer turns off soon after turning on and after few secs it turns on again
hope my explanation is clear enough
What could be causing this problem ? ? ?
My sys config is
Abit ip-35 e, C2d e 6750, Xfx 6800 Gt, 320 Gb sata II samsung hdd , 2*1 gb transcend 800 mhz ram .
Please help me fix this , i am very much in need of a sincere machine .

Re: Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
Can't point out the exact cause.Try checking each device one - by -one.
Check ur ram first! Also try removing ur bios battery or flushing ur cmos.
Looks like ur cabinet is haunted by some dead PC's ghost ....

Re: Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
in that case i must check out the 2 pieces of transcend ram , i have got no cheating processor so far
as u said my p4 based sys must be haunting , only the p4 processor survives still .
I am using a frontech 500 W power supply .. is this enough , frontech cab look ugly and quality is worst too .
Would be happy if some one would suggest me a good cab and power supply under budget 3-5 k

I suspect VGA cable is your monitor is faulty.
Try change it, new one comes for around 150 bucks

Re: Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
Dual boot is a known issue with Abit IP 35 boards and I believe it is fixed in the latest BIOS update.

Re: Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
dual boot as far as i know...and i guess he meant that to having the option to select to boot two or more OS from a single computer...
it is not related to your case..
how did you check the ram? memtest?
what about graphics card? did you check it on another PC?
what is your monitor..a CRT or LCD?

I ve run the comp with single peice of ram alone , tried both , both are working fine once the pc is started Or else with both the pieces it dosent start up , as i said some changes in hardware brings back display. Wondering when this problem will pop up again
I havent done any other test on ram , if there is some particular good software please tell me .
Graphics card i havent tried on a diffrent system .
I am using a lcd monitor , its view sonic va 1912wb
BTw the issue with the board is double boot right , not dual boot !! , whats a double boot ?

online sources indicated that it need to boot twice to be able to boot to windows

i have an Abit IP35 that always double boots when turned on from cold. By this I mean when I switch it on, it everything powers on but after a few seconds it all powers off again, then after a second it powers back on then boots fine.

just to be sure..clean the connectors of all components..and make sure that the graphics card is seated properly

Re: Strange no signal problem , Help neede badly
well soon they too will go, as flash drives or USB drives can be used to flash the bios.
