Angry XFX 650i Ultra Motherboard Problem - Need Help

Yesterday evening I was changing HDD boot option in the bios but suddenly the bios screen hangs. I did every possible key combination to get rid of that. But that screen still remained hanged. So I rebooted the pc with reset switch but after that I was not able to get any display.

So I cleared the bios setting usimg the jumper and removing the battery.
Disconnected all the HHd's. Checked the pci-e slot with different gfx card.
CLeared all slots & reinserted every thing including proc & Ram.
Checked with a new zebronics psu. But all failed.

So I want to know what could be the problem ? Is the bios of the board corrupted or something else ?

Motherboard is : XFX 650i Ultra. With Pentium D cpu 3 GHz, 2*1 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 Kingston ram, GFx card 8600GT & 7300GS*. 2 80GB Hdd's in Raid & one 160GB Ide HDD. LG DVD RW. 450W clorsit Psu.

PS : If they don't have 650i ultra for replacement then waht motherboard I should get between Asus & XFX. Guys Plz Quote model numbers & chipset.
I bought the mobo for Rs. 5800 Last year.

Looks like a BIOS corruption issue.Just take the board to XFX/Rashi service station and ask them to flash the bios for you. That should get the problem solved. If that doesnt help then chances are that the board has died which means you need to get replacement.

Default Re: XFX 650i Ultra Motherboard Problem - Need Help

Last monday ( 22nd sept 2008 ) I have to take that mobo ( xfx 650i ultra )
to Rashi ( Kolkata ). I told them that the display is not coming out
from that board even by trying two different gfx cards. I also told
them that the bios may be corrupt. They said they will test the board.
When I told them to test the board in front of me they refused to do so.
They told they will test the board at a later time & they took the board.
They gave me a slip with a rma number & told me to contact after a week.

So I contacted them this monday ( 29th sept 2008 ) about my mobo
quoting the rma number. They told me that they have sent it to mumbai
& the mobo will come after 15th oct 2008 either repaiered or replaced.
I told them that I have very urgent works & told them to do something
before 4 th oct but they told that they couldn't do anyhing.

Surprisingly they took more than 8 minutes to answer the simple thing &
bypassed the phone call over 3 people!

Now guys, I am completely frustrated & annoyed with Rashi peripherals ( kolkata ) service. If they sent the mobo to mumbai just only to repair it then
whey they have some so called hardware technicians in here.

They are taking nearly one month to repair or replace the damn mobo. Even
they aren't exactly sure what is the problem with the mobo ? Whether they
will repair or Replace it ? God only knows how long they will take!

Personally I don't want a XFX mobo again as I've lost every bit of hope & trust upon XFX and Rashi Peripherals. A good motherboard have to not only good performanc also good after sales support. As for support xfx motherboards sucks.

Guys take look @ here ( xfx north america support forum ) & see for yourself
what happened to a guy named TieT

http://www.bjorn3d.com/forum/showthr...t=16754&page=4

This guy ave a xfx 790i ultra mobo & xfx gtx280 gfx card.
Quote:
No luck still keeps giving the bloody FF error.

The mb was 6 hours old, im frustrated as hell !!
I had to send it back and im still waiting after 4 weeks.

Conclusion: im never buying a mb from XFX again im sticking with gigabyte.
So XFX itself is a ****ing screwed up company. They are not even providing
proper support in North America. Then what they will provide in here ?

Guys just pray & hope some good thing for me. You just can't imagine what
I'm feeling like ( feels like hell ) without my rig. I was planning to upgrade
it on dec or january. But now I'm feeling like all my plans are ruined.
I lost every bit of trust & hope on XFX 650i ultra ( actually all xfx mobo )
& Rashi Peripherals.

Coz when we buy a product we pay not only for the product but we also pay
for the warranty & support related to that product. So if a product is readily
available at the time of purchase then it should be available with the distributors within the whole warranty period or they should give us a better product or a similar priced product. If a product fails to fulfill it's warranty coverage then why those products gimmicky selling with three years warranty ?

Manufacturers & dealers think that we intentionally damage products.
So if a product phased out from the market even within the warranty period
they only harass us with delay. They are not willing to pay much attention
about warranty & after sales support. They only want to sell their products
& take the profit anyway.

Any product ( specially it related ) repair or replacement shouldn't take more than 7 days. Coz nobody will pay us for our loses and downtimes.

Guys suggest me what I should do ? or what I can do ?

I'm sorry for the too long post. I know your personal opinion or experience
may vary but just try to realize the situation I'm currently passing through.

Let me share my story related to xfx 650i n rashi.

I got the board and it was working fine. I had installed two memory modules (1gb*2).........after a year I bought two more modules but the board refused to boot after installing all four sticks. After two days of trying n testing, conclusion one of the memory slots was bad.

Send the board to rashi........they tested and confirmed (same day) that the board had problem......it was sent for RMA. A week later got a new mobo (not repaired) but it was DOA.

It was again sent back n exactly 5 days later got another brand new (sealed) mobo. And finally everything was working as it suppose to be. Have been using this mobo for over 6 months now without any problem. Also the new replaced mobo had the newer BIOS.

Yes, the RMA can be tricky business............so I would suggest that you wait a lil. I think that you should be getting a new mobo, if it's product cycle has not ended.

When I called them on 15th of this month they
said that it will take 3 to 4 days or maybe next week.
Then My elder brother called them after two hours & gave them a blow
with his words & voila! they said that it will take 1 or two
days. I called them on thrusday ( ie 16th oct ) morning & they said it's ready
& I got the mobo.

why did you buy xfx m/b? try to purchase spare of the company which gives you adiquate web-support like bios/driver/firmware update and a good post sell service.

only "priya limited" in kolkata gives a good after sales support for end user.they never asked for a bill and try to solve a problem within 7 days.

i cannot download any bios update/driver from xfx site still today. if you want it, you have to register your product and ........

the website of asus is also too slow/busy to download driver/bios updates. so do not purchase a product only by brand name.

on the other hand msi even biostar provides a regular bios and driver update which can fix many issuse of the motherboard.

optical drive like lg provides full firmware update service for your dvd writer.

first you have to check if rashi and other vendors of xfx (akshay enterprise) is truely the authorised importar of xfx or not. you check it through xfx website.
if they are not authorised then how can they give you proper service?

so think twice before purchasing a materials from this dealers.
