What do you mean by moderate gaming? You're buying 19" LCD and for that you need better than 8600GT. I had sparkle 8600GT that couldn't handle games at higher settings.

right it very much depends on the games u play ..but 8600GT is not sufficient enough to handle the new games coming out !

Unhappy Re: gaming rig within Rs. 30,000/-(for movie, game, internet)

I know the gfx card is not powerful enough to play newer games of 2008. Actually I want to play 2005-2007 released games. Also I have no problem with 17" monitor.......normal a/r or widescreen..........

No no stick to 19" monitor, get a GPU

Minimum: 9600GT @ 6k

Moderate: 9800GT --- for you, this one is best @ 7.2k

You won't regret: HD 4850 --- only one word, "awesome" @ 9.2k

There's lots of games in 2007 which 8600GT didn't played with highest settings.

My suggestion will be get a good GFX like HD4670 or HD4650 (don't know these are released already or not)

Invest into a good GFX card and you'll be happy in long run.

9.1k, 9.2k dude, don't bite me down.

Here see this:::

http://www.lynx-india.com/index.php?productID=2736

Include vat and shipping and it'll come to 9.4-9.5k, without shipping, 9.1-9.2k

HAPPY!!!

HAPPY!!!

no i m not happy ....don't u see any difference between 9.1k and 9.4k ???

and that costs 8895/- + 355/-(4% VAT) +170 /- (shipping minimum) = 9420/-

by ur saying everything u quote has a variance of + or - 300/- ??? that will make ur estimate of a system by gross of about 1.5k difference !....1.5k with 300/- more one can buy a 2 Gb RAM slot !

here we usually quote at the price we actually get the stuff not the price without VAT ...cos even shopkeeper don't do that ..everybody knows that ...when comes to buying every person has a stiff hand !! well almost everybody!

i would buy something if i m getting something at 3.6k ..rather than from the other shop selling same thing same thing (with all the other variables assumed being constant) at 3.9k .....wouldn't u ????

look, even u've written

8850 +vat, y counting the shipping, that u won't be paying to the shopkeeper, unless u're ordering, 'm sorry if i made a mistake, correct me. But still, if u're snappy about 0.1-0.2k, I can't help it.

How about a E7200 + XFX 630i + 2GB DDR2 800MHz RAM + WD Caviar 640GB + Xpert Vision 9600GT 512MB GDDR3 + LiteOn LH-20-A1P drive + CM 500W PSU + Zebronics Krissh cabby + Viewsonic VA1912w widescreen LCD + Altec Lansing BXR1121 2.1 speakers + Logitech Multimedia Keyboard/Mouse. It will cost around 35k and the eXtra 5k will surely be justified .

If you just cant spend more than opt. for a E2180 CPU and a Antec 400W PSU .

The E5200 should enter Indian market soon(atleast I hope so) and that would sell for less than Rs.4000 so that can be considered if you can wait a month

+1 for KPowerMania's config...
Sure u get some gaming with that rig...
Additional 5000bucks will be justified by the performance

same is my say 630i based mobos are not good if you think to buy a GPU
P35 in 4-5K or DG31 3-3.5K is what I suggest in mobo and huge difference comes in P35 and DG31, so a big plus for P35 chipset mobos
Palit P35A
Biostar TP35
MSI P35 Neo-F >> this mobo has got a big advantage that it supports DDR3 also, if you wanna increase RAM latter this will help you.

but whatever you decide on your specs +1 for KPower's below specs

I support that MSI P35 Neo-F is one the best mobo's out there but it wont fit in his budget.

Listen, if you can increase your budget then MSI P35 Neo-F will be an awesome buy otherwise, stick to Palit P35A
