Need A New DVD Writer...

I want to buy a DVD writer. Could you guys please help me out at some good ones available in the market. Budget below Rs. 2000. Thanks.

Sony/Samsung will be good.

few Liteon models too.

These days, how a dvd writer works purely depends on your luck and nothing else

some say sony is good some say samsung. In the end, it's your luck

True, but keep in mind that the NEC/Optiarc hardware which the Sony writers use is extremely pathetic and prone to failure.

^^I am using Optiarc since 10-11 months and it has served me well......but it can be luck

As of now, stick to LiteOn. LiteOn LiteScribe LH20A1P is a nice and reliable drive.

I have owned the LH20A1P drive & it recently went dead.But not before burning over 300 odd DVD's over a year.I would say it made my moneys worth.The only downside is it's noisy as hell.If you can bear that then no issues.I got myself a Samsung SH-S223F after much research.Absolutely silent drive & is performing pretty similar to my earlier Lite-On.

Are you sure LH20A1P has LiteScribe? AFAIK it didn't when I had it.Did you mean the LH-20A1H?
