Default High Temperature for My p4 machine


Hi,

My p4 prescott processor shows 60 degrees on idle and 70 degrees on 50% working in speed fan...is this normal?plz help as i have limited processor warranty.i have D101GGC m\b and zion 512 mb 200 mhz RAM...thnx in advance

Hi,

I think u proccy temp is just below the normal level. U can add more cooling fans inside the cabinet for better airflow. This will bring down the temp by atleat 4-6 degrees. You can also apply a thin layer of Thermal Paste b/w the proccy and its heatsink. Also, clean any dust which are accumulated on the heatsink and fan blades of the proccy. Se to that ur proccy temp never crosses 70 Deg.

My friends Intel PentiumD 3.00Ghz runs at 75 Deg during bootup itself. And he complains that it often gets freezed while gaming.
