Default Regarding Laptop Batteries


Hi
i have recently purchased a new acer 5930 laptop
what i would like to know is
does keeping the laptop connected to supply 24*7 shorten the life span of the battery ?
also i would like to know was/tips to prolong the battery life and kind of tips suggestion would be welcome

i think not..but occasionally you have to use battery down to its last drop and then charge it

yup, i think also the same, as letting the battery drain to its last drop and then fully charging it will improve its life.. (but do this only for the 1st 15-20 recharges)

buddy, is that cofig in ur siggy a C2Q ?? (the Q6600 ?) well actually hv been planning to build a gaming CPU containing mobo+gpu+ram+proccy+psu so hope u can help me in that, will make my purchase in Sept (wen the nehalem's are l;aunched) seeing that the c2Q MAY fall in prices...

you might want to consult the Basic Guide Purchase a New system
a lot depend on the budget as regard selection of the components
