Wink can I add a HD 4850 to intel DG33 or dp35 motherboard with q9300 ?

Hai guys,
I am confused buying between the following two configurations for my desktop

Case 1 :
1. Intel dg33 or Dp35
2. Intel Q9300

Case 2 :
1. Non IGP motherboard for $120.
2. HD 4850
3. Intel E8400

Problem is that I want a Quad core processor but then I would not be able to buy the Graphic Card before 2009. Also, since I would be buying a new Desktop, I would definitely require minimal graphics for my basic needs. I don't know if I can install HD4850 on a DG33 or DG35 and whether it would affect performance..?

This seems really good for you

The card is PCIe 2.0 interface where as the board connectors are PCIe 1.1 / 1.0 so though the card would work with the board (because of backward compatibility) but there would be some performance difference !!!!

In that case why not AMD spider platform ??

AMD Phenom X4 9550
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H
ATi 4850

^^^ it looks far better deal too me compare to a DG31 based board and E8400

Well if you are compareing just the processor then Intel is better any day, computer is not just about processor.

If the processor is not given supported range of performance hardware the over all performance wont be as per expectation, so under a tight budget, when we compare AMD vs Intel, amd always wins because of cheap but performance hardware

AMD Phenom X4 9550 @ Rs. 7700/-
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H @ Rs. 4400/-
HD 4850 @ Rs. 12k
would certainly out perform a same budget Core 2 range system

hey its divide in to L1+L2+L3 CACHE so the program will cache memory in gaming for good ... try to seek intel e8500 & amd 9550/9750 ... on gaming u ll know e8400 is no match to amd phenom 9550 when ..... on ever realtime

dude, u call 4850 minimal graphics!!!! U gone outta ur mind eh what!!!

I suggest wait and get:
Q6600 G0 @ 9k
HD 4830(shud be 7k)
MSI P43NEO-F @ 4.8k

Nothing better, u can opt for Q9300, but really, it has even lesser cahche, half as Q6600.

I think Q6600 has 8MB of L2 cache and Q9300 has got 6MB of it.

Well, u got the thinking and facts right...but funny thing is Q9300 performs better...although tht mite be because of d extra 100Mhz(Q6600-2.4Ghz, Q9300-2.5Ghz)

But best VFM is Q9450 @ 14k and Q9550 @ 15k in quad-cores.
Then comes Q6600 G0(the new stepping) @ 9k
