Unhappy inconsistent DVD palyer!!

Hi I have a sony DVD-RW bought abt a year ago. After having done a fair amount of writing and reading my player is showing signs of disordering---- may be I am too early to judge this. The problem is that I usually write all my movie DVDs at full speed(18X) and my softwares DVDs at abt (8X-12X), but now what i am able to see is that some of my softwares DVDs aren't being read well means my computer si showing a blank DVD whenever insert some (selected) DVDs whereas any external DVD not burnt by the same writer are just fine to be read, I mean they work absolutely fine...
can anybody tell me what mwy be the problem??

^^Might be a lens problem. Clean your lens and see. If not buy a new DVD-RW drive .

That happens .
Thats why ... Write ur CD's and DVD's @ medium speeds.
So that they are readable later too.

And the lens dont have much life either.
If u do lots of reading and writing ... Then get a new one.

I said that since he was writin @ max speeds .... I mentioned this earlier ...Thats why DVD's werent been read by his writer later .... And this prob had the same soln. which both of us knew.
