Suggest me the processor
Can you suggest me the processor that is better and it is currently available and compatible with my mobo... Planning to go for Pentium D 960 series... I am not sure if it is available in the market.. let me know the price and also the websites links where I can find the prices... Thanks in advance. |

Man, Pentium D processors are outdated. Get at least a Core 2 Duo processor. Tell us your budget also. For instance, you can buy Core 2 Duo E7200 for almost Rs. 5500.

When did you buy this mobo?
Newer versions of this mobo supports core2Duo but the earlier versions doesn't support and if yours is early version of the mobo, you should stick to Pentium D. Call ASUS customer care and find out whether the mobo that you have (revision number) supports core2 processors or not. If it supports core2duo, the best processor for this mobo will Be E7200.

If you are on a budget, get a XFX 630i + E7200.
I dunno if PentiumD are still available.

Your rig still has lots of life in it. Why don't you wait a while till nehalem and deneb arrive and become mainstream ? It shouldn't take over 6 months. Upgrading to a soon to be obsolete Core2 processor makes no sense to me.
