Re: ~Suggest a 19 inch LCD Monitor~
AOC 917VW http://www.aocmonitor.co.in/917VW.html very good vfm and excellent performer. And it has both DVI and VGA input. You can get it for 9-9.5k approx.
Most of the newer samsung panels omit the DVI connector. But this one look excellent and also has DVI input http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/d...d=LS19TWHSU/XL dono the price

Re: ~Suggest a 19 inch LCD Monitor~
would suggest LG or Dell monitors, in equivalent price range they are better than Samsung in 19 inch.
Specific models Dell E198WFP, LG - W1952, LG - W1942
In Samsung would suggest 940B
ViewSonic-VX1940w
worst part of it is HP monitors which are good are not well priced in India and finding retailers for monitors is not easy.

Re: ~Suggest a 19 inch LCD Monitor~
1908wfp has these in extra:
swivel and height adjustments
four-port USB hub
But it costs around 4k-5k more. For that price you would get Dell 228WFP.

Re: ~Suggest a 19 inch LCD Monitor~
^^that 8k:1 is dynamic contrast ratio and it's just a marketic gimmick just like the digital zoom in cameras. it's of no use.
This one is a good monitor, but it doesn't have DVI port

Use Displaymate tool to adjust brightness and contrast to the level that suites your eyes.
Note: Don't change resolution and DPI. They should be set to native values.
I didn't change font size too for Vista. I am used to small size, thanks to my thinkpad that has a 14" display with 1400x1050 resolution.

^^ nope. NO harm in that. Sorry. Didn't come to mind that you were asking about Vista's DPI settings. yes. Go ahead.

Re: ~Suggest a 19 inch LCD Monitor~
interestingly I had gone to SP road, I was told price for Dell E228WFP as 14000+4% VAT
Dell 2208WFP as 16000+4%VAT.
That sums up less than Dell's shipping from the online quoted price from Dell site.
