change ups battery or new ups??

i v a APC back es 500 ups. specs below.


battery gets discharged within 2-3 minutes these days. sud i change the battery or buy a new UPS?
how much wud a similar battery or UPS cost.

added: its 4 years old.... thats why i want to know whether investing in a new UPS wud be better?

APC UPS's electronics are pretty rock solid.

First and foremost, get the battery checked and find out price of APC's new battery. If that's is around 50% of price of new APC UPS, go for new battery.

PS: Is it out of warranty? Generally UPS manufacturers give 2yr-3yr warranty on electronics and 1yr warranty on battery.

and BTW, the current generation of APC 500VA and 650VA UPS's are not having the monitoring port.

n yes it is out of warranty. it blew off on 2 occasions during warranty and each time they replaced it with a refurbished one at my residence within 48 hours.
