A value for money laptop at around 45k
I wish to receive your suggestions for a value for money laptop at 45k. I heard about Dell series starting from the 40's with 3GB Ram? Are they good enough? My considerations would be good display, high RAM and seconday storage AND A GOOD KEYBOARD too (have to type here a lot).

Dell Inspiron 1525 if you don't need to do GPU intensive tasks.
Dell Studio 15 if you need to do light GPU tasks and want some class.
Dell XPS 1550 for light gaming.

1525 is simply THE most VFM laptop at Rs. 45K, but it comes with only GMA X3100 as graphics chip. So you will get bad macbook like performance with gaming. So if you want to game, do NOT get 1525. Its more for multimedia and more CPU intensive tasks.

Re: A value for money laptop at around 45k
Thanks for the feedback. Not much into gaming since I have a workstation for the same.
This is mostly to do with documents and may be watching videos at times.
amrawtanshx says Dell Insipiron 1525 can be customized. So is it like we can give the
specifications to the dealer and they would get the same without any delay as with their
already existing ones.
Also wish to know on the processor side. How much we need to worry on the
CPU here..??

That laptop mainly gets the eyes because of its CPU. Everything else is average, and I think Dell Inspiron 1525 can easily tie with it in terms of absolute VFM. Besides, add EPP to Dell and you get a killer.

Not everyone gets EPP and it cannot be a basis for deciding whether a laptop is VFM or not.
1GB RAM can be upgraded to 2GB (by Acer) by paying 1500 extra (in exch for the 2 x 512MB )
So effective cost will still be 43k only, I am sure a Dell 1525 with similar specs would cost more.
If EPP is an option, then I suggest the XPS series.

Re: A value for money laptop at around 45k
dont you think EPP can cause overheating problem more in laptops. Cooling options in laptops are not similar to desktops. So why would you go for simple 45K config, when taking the expanse of cooling will increase the cost alot.
