Default Buying a new laptop

Hi guys

I am finally about to buy a new laptop .. probably within a week ..
i really like the acer aspire blue gemstone 8920 (http://www.acer.com/gemstoneblue/eng/).
its selling at a price of 7500 SR which is approximately 80k Rs

if some one has used/owns this laptop could you please let me know how it fares in different aspects.. especially gaming.

also the xps seems to be a good option though it doesnt have the option of graphics cards beyond 8600..
i need suggestion for a good laptop or if u could point me to review of the 8920 or suggest different laptops (with links please)
i basically need it for gaming,movies,songs,browsing.etc.. etc..

The Acer model you have shortlisted seems like real VFM. Can you please post the processor, HDD and GPU which you have shortlisted for 7500SR? Does it come with Blue Ray DVD Drive?

I suggest you go for Dell XPS m1720 instead.

This laptop looks good and is configured nicely, but the power it offers is too little compared to the much more VFM XPS m1720.

You just need to spend Rs. 7000 extra, but for a dual GPU setup with 4GB ram making for an uber gaming laptop, its worth it.

The 8920G is a leap above the normal Acer lappys in terms of quality. Its a great buy. Post the exact config you r getting.

Looks quite good. But just don't expect much gaming. Its more of a Multimedia Laptop.
