Default Repair or replace?

I have ASUS P5B-VM motherboard.
My motherboard effectively dead after a bios update.
The complete details are in this post.
ASUS P5B-VM - MY BIOS UPDATE experience

Now I have 3 options.
One is to get it repaired.
The second is to replace it with the same model.
The third is to replace it with a newer and better model.

Which one would you suggest?
I have Intel Core2Duo E4300 1.8ghz and Seagate 160GB HDD

If you choose the third option, which motherboard would you prefer?
I prefer to buy ASUS,GIGABYTE,ABIT and MSI motherboards.

First, it's not dead. Take it to the service center and see if you can get it repaired for free.

If they charge something around 1k, go ahead as it's only the BIOS that's gone and they will replace it.

Thanks for the info.
But do you know where asus service center is in Bangalore?
Do I necessarily have to thru my dealer?

BTW do you have any idea how the bios will be replaced?

its generally easier to go thrugh the dealer because they know all the service centers. but if you really wanna know which is good, you can again ask the dealer or check net and ASUS site for it.

Ok I did a little lookup, I could not find asus service center for bangalore.

So I checked out master lookup list for ASUS which has info.
ASUS
Company:- AsusTek Computers India
Contact:- 022-56290785/87
I know this is the main service center in India and is in Mumbai.

You can call up to them and ask them about bangalore.
