what is atom processor

Friends we know that intel released atom processors. Is anyone know more about these processors? like clock speed, price, performance, it is dualcore or quadcore,supporting motherboards, etc...

This processor is for MIDs.

They are a bit underpowered, ultra low voltage, in order execution, 45nm processors. Single core as of now. Mainly suited for netbooks and MIDs.
