Which version of Linksys--WRT54G is moddable (URGENT)?

Hey guys i am purchasing a Linksys WRT54G router today itself . I believe that one version of the router was know not to be moddable.

Which version is moddable and how do i identify it's version. Plz its very urgent . Thanx

i think version 7 is not much moddable...i got it and found that it got the atheros chipset when i thought of using third party firmware...so make sure it is not that version...

i checked out the box of version 7 and didnt find version 7 written anywhere as far as i can see but it is printed on the underside of the router

the version can be found by checking the serial number printed on the box!

there is a list of serial numbers with their corresponding versions...i shall give u the link.. just PM me.

CDFE xxxxx- If this is your first 4 letters, then you have version 7 and it sucks, trust me!
