Soundcard for my 2.1 system

I've got the creative M2600 2.1 speakers and need a soundcard for them.Now, my knowledge about soundcards is absolutely ZERO, so I have no idea where to start looking.I looked at the sound blaster series but couldnt make head or tails of it.
My budget is around 4k and I only want the card to get better sound.No sound recording crap.!Please help me out!
PS-I live in a hostel n my room is pretty small.So I dont really need a very high end card.

go for the creative soundblaster Live! 5.1. costs around 1.2k and its pretty decent.

Creative Soundblaster Audigy is also good...Rs1300. Upto 5.1 support...PCI Install.

Isnt that audigy a series?As in, arnt there differnt type of audigy cards?Audigy se, nz or sumthing like that..?

First and foremost, you don't need any soundcard for those speadkers. What is the model number of onboard soundcard? What your motherboard serial number?
