Recently i have been facing a problem on my PS2. For some reason, i'm not able to play some of the games that i bought in colour! i.e though the game is playing smothly there is no colour? i checked and cross checked all the connections properly and tried changing the contrast and colour options in my TV but to no avail. But not all games are this way....in most games i do get colour but in some i don't?

How old is your Television? Does it support NTSC colour system? If not then that might be the culprit.

Check the manual to find out if it supports Muti-System colour support. If not then better get a NTSC to PAL convert & that should get the job done.

Get a PS2 Compatible NTSC to PAL converter. It will do the job. I also had a similar issue with my Modded NTSC-J PS2 and it got resolved thru this converter. Whats more i have another TV which is more than 15 yrs old and now i can play my PS2 in that too since it has a connector to be inserted where the cable wire goes
ok...but i do not understand one thing.....are the ports for the NTSC and PAL the same? i mean i insert 3 wires one for the video (yellow) ans other 2 for audio (red and white). If the port for the pal is diff then i might not have it? (plz excuse me as i'm ignorant of this matter)
The ports for the composite wires (Red,White & Yellow) stay the same on the converter. It only converts the signals.Imagine it to be like an external chip which converts signals.
