Urgent advise needed
Hello frnds.
My current config. is
Intel Celeron CPU 2.00Ghz (original chipset) with Intel 845Dglly series MOBO
512 MB RAM (properties show 504MB)
WinXP SP3
My father told me he wants to get it updated. Would it b advisable to get Dual Core? I mean would it actually improve speed considerably?
Also pls advise whatever possible.

Budget 7-10k
I use the computer for basic work- Excel, a lil bit of graphics, and primarily internet usage.

For the works you have mentioned, even this configuration is good enough. Just upgrade memory to 1GB.

this was the correct choice i thought you might go for complete system upgrade, so only change your RAM,also i can advise you to change your monitor to an LCD if you don't have one

Intel Premium Dual CPU
E2180@ 2.00GHz
1.99GB RAM
Physical Address Extension 
Whats Physical Address Extension???
Reason for upgrade? You all will know in a few days

you will find this only in intel pentium pro versions which defines your RAM limit, in your case you can upgrade up to 4GB RAM, according to your operating system specifications

He did not want you to notice core, he wanted you to notice pentium, you had written premium.
