BIOS Boot failure

Hi!
I have got an ASUS M2NVM-DVI motherboard with an AMD Athlon X2 dual core processor. I forgot my BIOS password, so I tried to reset it by changing the jumpers, as detailed in the motherboard manual. But I did not remove the onboard battery before changing the jumpers, as a result of which I can no longer boot. Can you please suggest some way in which i can restore my BIOS settings, without having to actually buy a new motherboard!

switch off your computer and remove your cmos battery, and then fit it again. when u boot the computer again, it should ask for confirmation to change bios to default settings. give yes. and tats it!

Yes, I tried that, but to no avail. Besides, the CPU gives out two beeps (difference between beeps is about two-three seconds) and the monitor remains in the standby mode and doesnt even show the bios settings menu. What should I do to make it display the BIOS menu?
Please help!

did you put back the jumper to its original position?

is it necesary to remove the battery before changing jumper settings ?
i always thought battery is reqd for the jumper change to take place. i mean where else do you get the power from when comp is off.

correct me if anything is wrong .

or maybe ram might have come off or there might be a loose contact.

Hi there,
The 2 beeps indicate that POST failed! Make sure that RAM moduls & Video card seated properly. I too think that battery needs to be there when BIOS is reset.
