Question Laptop Shutdown unexpectedly and Fan not working properly

Hi,
I have a Compaq Presario V2000
It is heating very much and shutdown Unexpectedly

Its Fan is not running

But, When I switch on the Laptop fan starts for a sec or two but after this it stops and dosent run, If i blow some air from my mouth it starts running and works fine

but it dose not start automatically as it should be when I switch on my Lap

I have also tried some software upgrade and BIOS update from HP sites which say
"Fixes intermittent issue where fan does not operate correctly" from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=1136345

but was of no use

What can be the Prob is their Prob with Fan or batter or any other Hardware or Software Prob ?

Please Help

Have u tried cleaning the fan?
My desktop Cpu fan gives this kinda problem once in 4-5 months, and it works fine after cleaning and if needed i pour a single, very little drop of machine oil.
Well that works for me

its is 1.5 year old
wht is the relation between fan and thearmal paste ?
bcoz if thearmal paste is gone than Proc should heat up and shutdown

but here proc is heating up bcoz of not running of Fan and if i blow some air from my mouth the Fan Starts and Lap dosent Shutdown

but every time blowing air from mouth is a kind of sensless and weired thing if i use it somewhere outside home

So pls tell me some possible reason ? and way ?

I hav myself already done that
opened the Lappy, Cleaned the Fan

this is the same fan i found inside lappy

but their was not much dust also
after cleaning the prob is continue

I also used this BIOS Update, which says
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=1136345
Fixes intermittent issue where fan does not operate correctly
but was of no use

also i thought to try to change the Fan
but it is too coslty comes for 99$ i.e. $99 x 42 = Rs. 4128

so i can only change it if I am sure that it is Fan's Prob, if that is something other than their is a big loss
