Default 5.1 recording/ripping?

System is C2D 2.4GHz , Intel G33 motherboard, no gfx or soundcard installed.

I have an Audio CD with 5.1 sound compressed(?) and want to create another duplicate CD. Using WMP, it rips to stereo.

How can I rip it to all 6 channels?(without using addon cards) Can I copy the image first and then burn?

I know that Nero's SoundTrax application has ability to mix and create 5.1 & 7.1 channel sounds... and it also has a Audio CD ripper..
So i think it has the ability to rip all the 6 channels of your cd..

CD to CD, then why WMP ?? There are many free ISO recorder and burner available in case you dont have NERO like software available simply make a CD to CD image copy and burn

Why would you have to Compress in case of CD duplication ???

^ sorry I have used the word compress for Audio CDs. I meant the Audio CD has 5.1 sound.

I was unsure about the ISO image thing.
Thanks. That cleared my doubts.

If you want to create a duplicate CD then as choto said CD to CD copy using any burning s/w is the solution...............However if you wanna rip the songs off......on to your HDD with complete 6 channels ....I uploaded this guide on the fourm. Link is below. Hope that would come in handy to you in some way........

Rip Dolby 5.1 Audio/Song of a DVD Video file....
