Default Wireless Adapter

I am having a wireless router for dsl broadband connection. Since my PC does not have wireless capabilities, presently I am using cables to connect with it. Now, Can I use a wireless adapter with PC so that I can connect to the router without cables? If yes, what features should I check before buying the wireless adapter?

And, will the same adapter work with both WinXP and Ubuntu?

Default Re: Wireless Adapter

Yes, you can use a wireless adapter, either a PCI card or a USB dongle to enable Wifi on your PC. As for features there aren't many you need to look for. If your router has the N specification, get a card that is of the same spec cause it will give you better speed. Otherwise a normal b/g card would do fine.

As for linux compatibility, check the internet for drivers, I'm not sure how the whole Linux drivers thing works.
