usb2.0 extension

my old system has 845GVSR motherboard...so it doesn't have usb 2.0 compatible port...it takes longggggggg time to transfer data from my usb drive

...now if i plugged in a usb 2.0 extension to my system then can i enjoy faster data transfer rate??

if yes...then how much it'll cost for a standard one??
if no...is their any way to increase the speed of data transfer??
Plz help me i’m on stake!!

What you can "plug-in" is a USB 2.0 PCI card which retails for about Rs.300 or so.
