I am 100% sure this is RAM problem, if you are getting BSOD during XP installation.

I faced same a month ago. I tried a lot to install XP as well as VISTA but failed. My good luck, sometime I was success to install but while working, it got reboot suddenly. Power led remained on but won't boot while I switched power button, I have to switch off main power then it would boot again same thing. Oops sometime my OS went corrupt.

I asked the samething herein digit forum but nobody helped me to rectify the exact problem. Anyway I replaced my system's 512 to 1GB DRR2 after I checked memory sticks with help of MEMTEST86. Till then no problem with mine system.

I recommend to check if your system's memory modules are working perfecty?

Sorry for so long story.

hmm..

Its either RAM or PSU. PSU overloading or overheating can cause this. As well as RAM. pls check both and tell us.

There can be only two problems either in your RAM or in PSU
I think most probably your psu might have gone bad so all u have to do is replace it with
a new one as it would be better than repairing it.
Try to boot your system without ram and then again insert the ram.
Might be of help.
Best of Luck

Wink Re: Pls..Solve my problem!!!

@ Karan th85: why do u want to repair ur PSU .....u can get it for 400 Rs. a new one . And what guarantee if and u repair it will not create the same problem later. So better buy a new one with 1 yr warranty
