OS?

If XP, before windows loading appears press F8 & then select ''ENABLE VGA MODE'' & press enter key.

See if it works.

I don't think a repair will work but try the VGA mode and see if you can get into safe mode..... Sounds real wierd though. Maybe you can boot into another OS using a live disc and reconfigure - I've no idea how - sorry.

If you haven't already formatted, you can try this for a last attempt.
Let the pc boot up properly.
Hold down the windows key along with 'R' to get the run prompt.
Carefully type in "control desk.cpl,,3" without the quotes(note the double commas) and hit enter. This will bring up the display properties applet with the 'settings' tab selected.
From here you have to tab your way into the monitor section.

Carefully follow the sequence...
hit tab 3 times(you're in the 'advanced' button)
hit enter (now in the page which has the monitor section)
hit tab 5 times
hit left arrow key 2 times(now you're right in the monitor section)
hit tab
hit enter
hit tab
hit up arrow key once (your monitor is back on!)
hit tab
hit enter
hit tab 3 times
hit enter
hit tab
hit enter

Done...

Maybe this sequence is different with diff systems but in the 2 I tried they were the same.
