Default RAM Upgrade of Laptop


Hi All,

I have HP dv2601tx laptop, right now it has 1GB DDR2 66MHz RAM, i want to upgrade to a 2GB RAM, later i would prefer buying one more 2GB RAM supports upto 4GB RAM, So can i know which brand to go for the RAM, or should i take it to my hp dealer where i can get the RAM.

What would be the cost of 2GB RAM.

Also can i install windows xp into that laptop, if so where can i get the drivers for XP, in hp site i could not all the drivers which were needed for the model.

If you plan to get the RAM yourself then opt for Transcend as these are OEM suppliers to nearly all the manufacturers.

Hope this helps, sometimes after installing the audio drivers for XP, XP sometimes doesn't recognise the sound card for that download the patch from microsoft website
