Few of good results from googling
TFT-LCD
Little INFO
Little

And again copy paste

Old laptops used to have one of the 2 different technologies: passive screen or active screen (TFT). The difference was that active screens could handle quick updates of the screen while passive couldn't. That means a passive screen was far less luminous (but cheaper and use much less energy) but was enough for office use, but forget about games and movies...instead, the TFT was made for those applications that updated the screen very quickly.
The higher the screen size the better it is, but its good only if the res is also better, and the features provided in the monitor is considerable.

you need to check the specs also and not just the size.

First of all, Do you have the Graphics card and CPU that can drive a 22" or 24" display??

Since the price difference between 22" and 24" is very less and that 24" supports FullHD and 22" doesn't, it's better to for for 24" or else you can stick to 20"
