Unhappy New System Freezing....

Hi,

I had an old PC (P4- 2.8, DG101GGC, 1GB DDR RAM) with two Seagate HDDs (200GB and 250Gb)

My Mobo decided to die finally and I've bought a new DP35DP Mobo, with a XFX 8600GT, Transcend 2GB (800MHz) RAM and a C2D E4600 Processor.

The performance of the PC is not upto the mark, and keeps freezing frequently.
I had first installed the OS on the 250Gb HDD and then, tried installing it on the 200Gb.

The performance seems to be a little fine when using the 200Gb HDD, but it still freezes. esp. when playing games...

Can someone please help.....

a friend of a friend of mine also bought a new system just like yours, but i think the motherboard is different (not sure)......and he have the same problem...... and yes, esp while playing games

then finally he change the RAM to CORSAIR and problems gone.......

his local dealer told him that its because of the Transcend DDR2 RAM (dont know if the dealer is right or wrong)

I asked in other threads and other forums....and I will ask the same question again.. which powersupply and let me knoe the wattage.
Other then that, let me know the temperature of your core and your mobo. Run the software orthos or prime 95 (google for the downlink ) which is used to test the stability.
Do all this and let me know
p.s.- let me know the make of the psu and the wattage capacity.

I have an Odessy 450W SMPS.
I've tried both software you've suggested and Both do not show any problems.
I have actually tried removing the 250GB HDD and the machine seems to be working fine now.... So, I guess it was the HDD at fault...

But when I try playing Cricket-07, it does not show the score and some characters clearly.
It was fine when using the Old Mobo....

And, Thanks Sorcerer for your help.....

If he must have to ask the computer expert then he won't ask herein digit forum. anyway the guys in some service center are fool enough to kill your system, some of them don't to how to reinstall OS.

^^^hehe last day my frnd went to hp service center to repair his lap's os, those guys installed xp into vista in same drive

I've tried reinstalling the OS, so obviously reinstalled the driver's as well.
Downloaded and installed Firefox, installed other apps.
But did not install SP3. So, it seems to be a little better now.
I've completely removed the side panel and the cabinet lies on its side... So, lots of cooling for it....

True thing about the service center guys....
My frnd bought a new system and that idiot at the hardware store, who assembled it, though I told him, managed to put the wrong pins for the Cabinet USB Header... Result... My Pen Drive went to heaven.....
