Laptop/Tablet Suggestions

I need to get a Laptop / Tablet for general all-round use. Here are the requirements :

1. Linux Compatible
2. Ultralight ~1-2kg
3. Solid State Hard Drive

Otherwise, decent specs ought to do it.

I looked at the Dell XT, and liked almost everything about it, but it seems that it has lousy linux support. Can anyone clarify this?

Other models I've looked at are the Sony VAIO TZ38GN, Dell XPS M(13/15)30 and the Dell Latitude D430.

Any ideas?

do not go with sony i have one and its crap....check out hp one they have good linux support....also ssd is waste atm many have crashed and the price you would pay would not justify the cost

You might want to check the HCL Mileap Y. Also the HP TX1XXX.
For lappys try the Dell Vostro 1310 or XPS 1330.
