Need a dvd writer

I heard the samsung dvd-rw sh-s203 is good.but does it have any tray problems?how about lite-on?is it really noisy?what should i buy?budget-rs1300/-

Don't even think about Lite-on drives. Pathetic quality.

Go for either samsung or sony. I prefer Sony

Go for Samsung SH-S203B Rs1200. Its a steal at its price and it can burn dual layer dvds at 12X.

lite-on is not pathetic. good performance. but the once popular LH-20A1P was extremely noisy. But the newer models like LH-20A1H and LH-20A3S are quite silent.

Never go for Samsung ones! They are notorious for tray problems...and abt Lite-On, my local computer-walla told me it is being sold by Moser Baer nowadays.. Is that true?

Samsung drives used to have this kinda probs before the arrival of new model which is SH-203B.
This drive is pretty good and very much silent. It would be a good choice.
Moserbaer has started providing optical drives in joint venture with LiteOn.............but LiteOn drives are also available in market.......
I've bought one 2 weeks back.

liteOn is OEM supplier of moser baer. however liteon can still be bought separately. i guess main difference is quality control.

i have used benq for 2 years.....
also sony uses benq parts.......
so i recommend sony....

recently i also bought sony sata dvdrw.... but yet to use it, becoz i dont have a 775 socket CPU
