Default USB Pen drive is not working

Hi
I have a 1GB usb pen drive.All of sudden it shows 4GB capacity.I am unable to access the pen drive.system detects the drive even i can't format the drive.how toover come this problem.I want to take my data back up.is it possible?

memory module is gone due occuping maximum space. noway to backup data.
