keyboard acting funny
I have a silicon usb keyboard which suddenly stopped responding with certain left section keys (6-8 keys), I changed the USB port assuming the port is acting funny but that did not help either.
Assuming the keyboard gone bad, I replaced it with multimedia keyboard PS2.............all worked fine for 3-4 days then the new keyboard numeric keys stopped working, I was locked out of my computer since my password include @ which I could not type.
After 2 -3 tries into safe mode it started working again normally leaving me confused as to is this a software problem or hardware problem.
Tried with XP/vista both so its more confusing, have u ever had such problem.

Re: keyboard acting funny
I don't think dis is software issue instead its hardware issue.
By the way KB u r using may have unclear circuits printed in plastic flim or num lock is of or KB isn't connected properly.
Also check sticky are disabled.
Anyway, u may use symbol keys as these key has numeric keys also.

Re: keyboard acting funny
I should have been more clear.
The number keys are working but the symbol keys were not working in the new keyboard, now the new keyboard is working perfectly, I don't know why it was acting funny earlier.
The old keyboard has following keys not working
Tab key
Esc key
A
S
Z
X
Q
so its left side keys gone bad.
I have never seen a keyboard gone bad so I don't know they die in such a way.
Where do you check sticky? I don't see any such thing in Control panel>keyboard properties.

Re: keyboard acting funny
hehe...u r using cheaper keyboard around rs. 150 to rs. 200, which performance is very very weak. sometime i too get same compliant from some guys same as yours.
these kind of keyboards have very weak circuits printed in plastic film, & so it sends weak signals to processor. sometime it works fantastic .....but sometime it works nasty . when keyboard gets problem, i try a lot but i fail to solve but restarting comp sometime it works .
i recommend to change your keyboard from better manufacturer like logitech, intex & blablabla...........don't choose cheaper one.

Re: keyboard acting funny
try plugin your KB on another system and test for some day...or get it replaced i dont think so it would neither connection problem nor software problem. Could be your KB problem.
