he has shortlisted 2 models:
1>HP DV6767TX
T5550 1.83GHz 2MB L2 667
3GB DDR2 667
250GB 5400rpm
8400M GS 256MB DDR3
15.4" 1280x800 disp
the rest is common with other HP Pavilion Notebooks.
Price : Rs.53.5k

2>SONY VAIO VGN-CR35G/L
T8100 2.1GHz 3MB L2 800
2GB DDR2 667
200GB 5400rpm
ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 128MB
14.1" 1280x800 disp

Price : 54.5k

Now he cant decide whihc 1 to buy.so guys plz give me ur valuable suggestions.

I think Dell offering is much better if his work is not processor intense!

he has tried configuring Dell XPS M1530 with T8100 & 8600M GT 256MB but the price has touched 59.5k.also hes a bit skeptical bout the looks of Dell XPS M1530.
both the SONT VAIO and HP DV6767TX hav gr8 looks.his main work is programming,gaming,movies,surfing etc.

If gaming then 8600GT is a must man! Few people even buy 8800GTX on the laptop.
No need for T8100, just with 8600GT will do the thing!

as far as look is concerned xps is not that good ..i have 1530 it dosnt have metal finish like vaio and hp..........but it looks decent though....... for gaming go for hp i have same config(wid 160gb) on my xps costed me 51k

Delk XPS m1530. Get a t7250 and a 8600m gt. You should get it in 55k.
In the above 2, the Vaio seems better.

Dell XPS looks real good.
HP lappies can get hot do not know of Dell because I got HP 6510b model.

whatever he buys, keep a check on weight of lappy.
And I think Sony and Dell would have better performance than HP.

In Dell you do not need to think much just check the config adding whatever you want for XPS 1530 (it becomes better than any HP or sony because you can have a check on what you are getting and is better priced than both).

I just checked the available price quotes from the dell site XPS 1530 as pathik says gets around 52000 that is the site price, I have heard and assume as I read here on digit forum, we can get waivers when we talk to the Dell executive directly when we are putting our config.

yes. XPS is the best option.

Beats every HP laptop in performance and build quality is also excellent. Also check Toshiba Qosimo series.

not a good option that is what I will say, something which is 4.7 KG, but I think there are available toshiba models with lesser weight.
Truly Dell is better option.

I do not like HP because they do not give any option, they give a few fixed models here in India and are being happy, not a very good marketting decision, its only good for lower end. But when people are giving good sums they should get good results also.
