Smile Building new PC (Help me with few Queries)

Guys my friend wants to buy new PC mostly for gaming

We decided to go with

Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2740

9800 GTX from XFX
1GB x 2 DDR2 800 MHz

We decided to go with quad core
Intel Q9300 (2.5 Ghz 1333 Mhz 6MB L2)

As we are going with quad core system
Does this quad core proccy need any external coller?
we would install 500 watts SMPS will it be sufficient?

I think u should go with 620 watts... as i think that graphic card will need 2 inputs... and an external cooler is always handy to keep the procy cooler and also if u want to overclock it,,...

I agree with Ajay you should provide extra cooler fans It will prove a wise decision later. Also SMPS should be of higher wattage around 600 watts.

By the way how much you are going to pay for MoBo and Processor ?

we will opt for 600 w SMPS

Budget for mobo and procy is around 18000/-

he dont wants to overclock his sytem any time

does an quad core really require an external cooler??
Really he is not intrested in buying an cooler, instead he says he will pick Core 2 Duo instead of Quad

then go for E8400 which will be a great procy for gaming... but dont compromise on PSU and cabinet..

Quad core is not used to full in the now a days game... it is better u get E8400 or E8500 which is really good processors... i dont think they will need any external cooler if u dont overclock...

can any one tell why E8400 or E8500 are better than Q6600 quad processor?

and E8400.. are core 2 duo processors or what kinds of ?

and then for what kinds of things Q6600 is good? like high end software
running? application servers etc.? and other tech. stuffs ?

^^^ E8400 & E8500 perform better in current apps and games cuz of their higher clk speed.most of the apps that we use 2 day r not optimised for quads so they dont perform well on Quads.
quads perform better in image and video editing.

E8400 is a C2D procy but its fabrication is 45nm whereas prev C2Ds were 65nm fabrication.

Quad core is really beneficial for multimedia works as well... like in 3D applications all 4 cores are used... which games dont use... might be in future they will use that
