Default Suggestion 4 IDE or SATA hdd ! ! !

yesterday my frd asked me this ? & i was just thinking, scraching my head .... bt needed the right ans ....

he owns a p3 machine with 80gb hdd [ide] ....

now he wants 2 add a new hdd bt is confused abt IDE \ SATA, which 1 2 buy .... as SATA is not supported by his mb bt can b converted 2 external 1 & useful 4 FUTURE [if he upgrades his pc] .....

IDE hdd will b useful now bt in future he will have 2 buy an external casing 4 this only ......

whot do u think, which 2 buy ?

bt have heard abt many SATA drives being faulty, HERE ......

is SATA adapter = sata external drive kit ......

I would recommend a IDE HDD for now.

Purchase a good quality casing and handle the case carefully - all dangers will be gone

yup .... will follow ur +vise ..... bt now SATA external kits r expensive compared 2 IDE 1`s .....

IDE = 300 rs
SATA = 900 rs

any pros \ cons of IDE | SATA ?

That's Ok pal.

I think ( not sure ) IDE/SATA external casings are same ( performance wise ) as they depends on your HDD speed & external casings & mobos usb interface speed

ohh .... thanx bt any pros \ cons of IDE | SATA HDD ? ....

sorry 4got 2 add hdd ..... cos new sata is cheap while ide is costly .....

His system doesnt' support SATA then what is the need for searching for SATA converters etc. Use IDE and stay safe.

hey bond .... just thinking abt the FUTURE ..... saving money .....

ide hdd wont b of any use lateron ..... as SATA`s r new & supported on new mb`s .......
