Default PATA/SATA Boot doubt...

My friend has purchased an abit ip35-pro today....as he is upgrading, he wants to use his old seagate pata ide hard disk...he wants to do a fresh windows installation...our doubt is can this be done on ip35-pro as he doesnt have sata drive....will ide hdd option be there in boot priority list?

In BIOS HDD is treated as Hard Disk in boot priority option, doesn't matter is it SATA or IDE drive.

but ip35-pro uses jmicron to control ide...he wants to use his pata dvd drive and pata hdd as slave and master....and he wants to do a fresh windows installation....
