Default Seagate ST 3250310AS problem.

I just bought it, its 250 GB SATA drive, I also have 80 GB PATA(which has winXP installed in it), now I have connected it, but isnt showing up in My computer nor in Disk Managment!

And it also shows drivers not installed.

Check, if it is detected in BIOS.
else, check for loose connection in data & power cables

Actually its detected in Windows XP, but it shows "new hardware found". But is unable to install required drivers.

So thats why its not working.

it is strange that raid controller has an error question mark over it in device manager..since you are not running in raid in the first place. right click on it and select uninstall. Then, follow what is below in the next para.

since sata hdd can be connected to your mb, it is supported and your mb cd will definitely have drive controller related to it somewhere. just pop in the cd and install the relevant controller for your type of drive.

access to a second PC or friends' PC will enable you check out whether the sata hdd to be in working condition or not.
