Hi all, 2day i add 2nd seagate hdd & i m trying to make all logical drives with computer disk management but its giving me error so is this not possiable to make all logical drives in 2nd hdd ? I have to make 1st partion as primary & then others logical? Or is this possiable to make all logical drives in 2nd hdd as my Window is in 1st hdd....plez help me soon, thanks in advance.

My question is, making all logical drives in 2nd hdd without any primary partion is that right or wrong? Thanks.

what kind of error u gettin while creating logical partition??

When i m trying to make all logical drives its giving me error on 1 of the drive formatting time...& all logical drives gones & my hdd again shows that unallocated space...same error when i make 1st drive primary so thats not my problem. I only want to know that making all partitions as logical drives without any primary drive is right or wronge coz i want to make all logical drives in 2nd hdd, Thanks 4 ur reply bro.

In 2nd hdd make primary Drive & other logical Drives. That way its perfect.

I will recommend you to make one primary partition even though its your second HDD.

ohh thanks to all but i creat all logical drives but now i have new problem, new logical drives works fine but now my pc don't detects that 2nd hdd everytime i have to search 4 hardware changes in device manager, after scanning 2nd hdd comes & works fine but if i restart or shutdown pc i have to scan again 4 that 2nd hdd, plez help friends, Thanks.

i think ur hard disk's MBR has corrupted...thats why it is not getting detected...so i will recommend u to delete all partitions n recreate them by using Norton Partition Magic...jst try it....hope it will work fyn after dat.....

there is no other way to repair mbr? Is norton partition magic repairs the mbr? Thanks bro.

my 2nd hdd is from seagate so seagate tool repairs this mbr? Thanks.

mbr is created when u create 1st partition on blank hdd...whether u r using norton partition magic or windows disk management utility it is not important....but as u r saying dat disk management utility is not doing well...so i recommended norton partition magic...jst del all ur partition.....n recreate it by usin it....hope it will work...

hi all, how to reset hdd partition drive letters from computer memory? Means i want to format my pc & i have 2 hdds now 1st hdd is having window & it contains 4 partitions C D E F but i want to install os on my 2nd hdd so i with the use of xp pro bootable cd i delete all partitions & when i m trying 2 make new partitions in 2nd hdd it starts from C but 2nd partition was taking letter G & not a D as my anothes hdd partitions starts from D
But i want to make driver in line like CDEF etc

I dont want to use disk management as its giving me error help me plez, thanks in advance.
