Dude I dont know the exact model but you can go for Philips! It supports DivX format with USB port to connect to a flash drive. I think this is the best.

Thumbs up Re: Suggest a Dvd Player

I suggest you go for one of the following models from Philips:

Model Number/Website Price/Shop Price (approx)
* DVP5986K/98 - Details - Rs. 5500 - ~ Rs. 4700
* DVP5965K/96 - Details - Rs. 5000 - ~ Rs. 4200
* DVP5150/94 - Details - Rs. 5000 - ~ Rs. 4200

My suggestion is you go for the DVP5986K/98 which has :
- HDMI output
- upscaling any video to 720p, 1080i, 1080p i.e. Full HD Quality.
- USB Input
- 5.1 channel
- DivX Ultra playability
- Dolby & DTS decoders
- Almost Future Proof (Not a Blu-ray player )

I don't recommend the others, but here are the features list of them:
The DVP5965K/96 is similar to DVP5986K/98 except the following :
- Has 2 Channel Sound output
- Upscaling to 720p, 1080i

The DVP5150/94 has the following :
- 7.1 Channels sound
- No USB
- No Upscaling
- No DivX Ultra Support

Here is some info about Upscaling Videos, If you didn't know:

What if I use standard DVD player and HD display. The DVD player is not HD capable no 720 or 1080 but the TV is capable. Would it work by stretching picture or would there be black borders?

As in can a TV upscale if DVD player sends normal resolution signal?

As everybody pointed out.....philips is the best......live example is me. I have a philips DVD Player DVP5500S, and I have been using it for the past one and a half year WITHOUT A SINGLE glitch. DVD with Divx was just around the corner when philips brought out this amazing player in the market and I must be one of the first buyers of it, it was available only at one showroom in the entire delhi, that too just one piece (checkout my review to know more).
well It is working flawlessly. My complete review can be read on the below link......

If you have any more question feel free to ask.

This upscaling thing is a markiting gimmik, dont fall for that. DVDs native resolution is 576p or i (PAL) and 480 (NTSC). Upscaling DVD players do nothing except to match the pixel count of the signal (DVD)to the native pixel count of a TV, this does not necessarily mean that the picture becomes clearer, as the upscaler in the DVD only increase the pixel count for the original signal to match with the TV res. (with is supposedly more than the DVD)
